The Athena Award
The goddess Athena was the goddess of wisdom and crafts, and patron of civilization - and of the oldest Democracy on the planet, Athens. This is a special award for the student the judges feel best connected their project to a Global Sustainable Development Goal. You can compare or contrast the modern and ancient world. You can take inspiration from the Ancient World and apply it to the problem being addressed by the SDG of your choice. Or you can examine how the Ancient Greeks and Romans dealt with these issues. This award can be awarded to any student competing inn either the Senior or Junior Awards.

Palma Lingua Antiqua
The new approach to languages in schools is that students learn the language through their exploration of Classical mythology and daily life. We encourage all students competing in the Junior and Senior awards to consider doing their project through Latin or Ancient Greek - or to include a substantial piece of Latin or Ancient Greek in the project. Any student who does so will be considered for this award.
