YCA Symposium

Symposium

Picture
The Young Classicist's Award Symposium is our event for the presentation of student projects. For 2019 and 2020, this event took place in UCD.

In 2020, at least 200 students had the opportunity to meet Classics students from at least 11 different schools from Kildare and Dublin.
Students had the opportunity to look at other students' work and to attend the presentation of student PowerPoint presentations and performances.

Besides the student presentations, there were also activities provided by Legion Ireland - Click Here . The Legionaries set up stalls and provided students with the opportunity to learn and engage with the world of the Roman Army, the most effect fighting force in Ancient history.

There was also a workshop provided for students by Access Classics - Click Here. They brought some Ancient artifacts from the UCD Classical Museum - Click Here. Students were given  the unique opportunity to hold and examine object thousands of years old, learning through touch rather than via a textbook.
Plans for the 2021 Symposium are yet to be concluded. However, at this point any events will likely be held online.
